A beautiful service for Chris, which I am so grateful to have watched from overseas.
Simon, Kate & Amy, I know your Dad would have been very proud of the way you spoke today.
I was so fortunate to have worked for Chris for so many years, and the memories have come flooding back. And yes Simon, I can still hear his lovely, calm voice through the dictaphone.
All my love to you Marj, Simon, Kate & Amy & your extended families.x

At least COVID gave us the benefit of the live-stream. The privilege to witness a wonderful tribute to Chris. Simon, Kate, Amy, Craig and the Wonthaggi Citizens Band combining to deliver a most personal reflection on a life so well lived.
Having joined you all the first time live, I then had the honour of replaying and reflecting for the second time. Tears the first time and taken to heart the second time.
Draw strength from one another as the new normal becomes apparent. From one who knows first hand, this thoughtful service will kick start the days to come. Gone from sight but never forgotten! 🙏💕

I only heard today of Chris’s passing (30/5) at a combined brass band concert in Leongatha. Chris and I were very young members together in the Wonthaggi Citizens Band in the late 50 and 60’s onwards. We had wonderful times together. His father Jim was instrumental in teaching us the “business” side of brass banding. Great family values, a great friend and a wonderful person to have known. R.I.P Chris.
Condolences to the family.
