Greetings to The ‘Watkins Clan’ from the Jenkins Clan. Great memories from Balwyn Baptist days with Merle & Gwyneth Smith in duet. (Sorry we cant attend, Mum has just come home from hospital & is weak as a kitten after a stroke.) she knows about Merle’s passing and sends her love. If theres a recording shed love to hear it down the track. Blessings all, Rob & Sue Hand 💚

A big hello from Peter & Julie Stebbins who are attempting to watch from Phillip Island. Internet is weak. Our love and prayers to all the family as you say a ‘goodbye’ for now. How wonderful that we will be reunited together again. Blessings and love 🙏🏻💚💚

For many years I’ve treasured a cassette recording of Merle’s playing. I never met her in person but being able to stream the service today has been inspiring.

Thank you for sharing this very special occasion online. What a wonderful God-honouring service it was. I look forward to good catch up with Bruce and Merle when we all get to Glory.

Such a special tribute to the beautiful Merle Watkins, Mother of Heather, Robyn and Bronwyn.
When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be.
When we all see Jesus,
We’ll sing and shout the victory!

Being in SA and unablexto travel down today, I send all my love to the Bruce & Merle Watkins family clan, keeping you in my prayers.
Such a beautiful tribute to Aunty Merle…watched on the livestream (which was done very well) and can say it truly blessed me. I knew a little of what was shared by Heather, Robyn and Bronwen so well with heartfelt honesty including her extended family, and how much your mum loved the Lord Jesus, but to the extent of how much she had shared her gifting and time for the Lord both at home and for the missions was not fully known.
Indeed, she is one of whom it will be said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”
Much love, Shaylee

Hello ‘Watkins Girls’, you and your children all spoke so well as you honored your Mum. What wonderful memories I have of your parents and you as we grew up at North Balwyn and then in later years, but always of your Mum’s amazing piano playing. Sorry I wasn’t able to be there today, but so good to be able to watch her service with you. Love and prayers – Dot Hodge (Smith – daughter of Edna & Clive Smith)

It certainly was a lovely service, with much laughter, lovely stories and above all with pure love. All the tributes were worthy of Aunty a true tribute to her family. Lessons learnt, stories told and passed through the generations. xoxo

Sorry I could not be there in person to support you all. What a beautiful service and testimony to a woman after Gods own heart. She is now making beautiful music in Gods kingdom forever. Xx
